After 10 years as a voice teacher, Mara studied the culinary arts at Guilford Technical Community College before joining Whole Foods as a Cooking Coach. She also began a cooking class program at the Greensboro Whole Foods and was a regular instructor at the Edible Schoolyard at the Greensboro Children’s Museum. In 2014, Mara became the director of the Salud Cooking School, where she features local chefs to competing in Sliced! live cooking competitions. She can be seen on local TV morning programs and teaching three to seven times a week at Salud!
