Hannah Riley Board Member
Chef Hannah Riley is an Arizona native whose work and family life allowed her to live in many states across the country before settling in Charlotte, NC five years ago.
She learned to work with differing palates and personalities right from the start. Chef Riley began her catering career in Arizona for the city council – fresh out of high school. While catering monthly events and social gatherings, she was approached by a guest with an opportunity to move to Seattle to be a live-in personal chef for a family. The client was an entrepreneurial business owner and helped Hannah establish a company to fit where she saw her business going over the next ten years.
At the time of her son’s birth, her business, Alternative Chef, was also born. Hannah’s son was diagnosed with celiac disease from an early age, which prompted Hannah to study and master all forms of “alternative” diets to meet her son’s needs while maintaining the tastes and textures he enjoyed. Today, Hannah works with clients who have dietary concerns ranging from weight loss to terminal illnesses. Each client’s individual restrictions and palates are satisfied as if Hannah were cooking for her own family. Due to Hannah’s passion for her clients dietary concerns, her focus towards local organic products is of utmost importance to fulfill her personal business model and continue to offer the best available products to each person she prepares for daily.
In her free time, Hannah spends time with her family kayaking, hiking, reading, and enjoying the changing North Carolina seasons.
