For industry professionals and dedicated consumers, the Piedmont Culinary Guild Food and Beverage Symposium is a day of education and exchange for culinary and farm professionals, enthusiasts, consumers, and the curious.
From across the Carolinas, farmers, chefs, culinary educators, mixologists, food writers, and other industry professionals will gather at Johnson & Wales University – Charlotte for a day of assessing where we currently stand within our local culinary environment – and how we can make it better.
In addition to the farming, culinary, and business sessions, we are adding a Wellness Track. Everyone seems to be working longer hours, dealing more and more with unrealistic demands in work, in life and worse, where our personal expectations intersect with both. This year, we will explore this in detail – as well as ways we can improve ourselves and our workplaces.
Keynote Speaker: Katie Button
Chef Katie Button is Executive Chef and Co-Owner of Cúrate, The Nightbell, and Button & Co. Bagels in Asheville, North Carolina. A semifinalist for the James Beard Rising Star Chef award in 2013, a nominee in 2014, semifinalist for Best Chef in America in 2015, and nominee for Best Chef Southeast 2018, Chef Button is passionate about a need for change in our industry with an emphasis on sourcing with integrity and mentoring the next generation of culinarians.
Don’t miss this special day as we celebrate and explore our culinary community.
Tickets: $85/person – includes continental breakfast, lunch by the Soul Food Sessions team, and post-symposium reception (with massage therapists!).
