Autism Aware Fare was launched in 2002 by the Mecklenburg County Chapter of the Autism Society of North Carolina to raise money and awareness for autism. When provided the opportunity, each person can make a unique contribution to their family, community, and society. The Autism Aware Fare helps raise awareness and funds so people with autism can access these opportunities to shine.
The Autism Society of North Carolina was formed in 1970 by a group of parents who wanted to build better lives for their children with autism. Today the organization is one of the largest and most respected autism organizations in the country, providing support and promoting opportunities that enhance the lives of individuals within the autism spectrum and their families.
