Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Pre-conference Workshop

The Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA) and NC Growing Together are co-sponsoring a Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) workshop – coinciding with the Piedmont Culinary Guild Food and Beverage Symposium on Friday, March 10 at The Art Institute of Charlotte.
This four-hour pre-conference workshop will provide education on Good Agricultural Practices, traceability, GAP auditing criteria, and resources to assist producers in creating on-farm food safety plans to prepare them to expand markets and ensure safe products are being produced. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Participants will be eligible to apply for direct one-on-one assistance in developing a food safety plan, conducting a risk assessment and scheduling a GAP audit.
The Presenter will be Patricia Tripp, Carolina Farm Stewardship Association Local Produce Safety Manager. The is a long-time advocate for safe, healthy and sustainable agricultural practices and has successfully partnered with local farmers, the agriculture industry, non-profits and public health community to support and enhance this mission through consulting, grass-roots program development and public heath education.
She holds a B. S. in Chemistry and Master’s Degree, from Virginia Tech, in Agricultural & Life Sciences. Patricia has extensive expertise in on-farm food safety, food defense, sustainable farming practices, food systems and postharvest physiology.
