PCG Member Emily Hoody-Russell is one of the hosts of a screening and panel discussion of the documentary, Wasted: The Story of Food Waste.
Wasted aims to change the way people buy, cook, recycle and eat food. Through the eyes of chefs like Anthony Bourdain, Dan Barber, Mario Batali, Massimo Bottura and Danny Bowien, audiences will see how the world’s most influential chefs make the most of every kind of food, transforming what most people consider scraps into incredible dishes that create a more secure food system. The movie exposes the criminality of food waste and how it’s contributing to climate change and shows us how each of us can make small changes – all of them delicious – to solve one of the greatest problems of the 21st century.
Following the screening, there will be panel discussion featuring:
David Rosenthal, President of Temple Israel, Shalom Green Board Treasurer (Moderator)
Mary Rebecca Thomas, Cantor, Temple Beth El
Jerry Lanuzza, Dean of Culinary Education, Johnson & Wales University
Robert Brener, Associate Professor, Food & Beverage Consultant, Johnson & Wales University
The event is free to attend, but please call (704) 366-5007 to register.
