Lucky Leaf Gardens – Mushroom Cultivation – Part 1
July 30, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
$60.00
PCG Member Kate Brun is hosting the first of a three-part series on Mushroom Cultivation at the Lucky Leaf Gardens brand new Education Pavilion. This first part will cover “Countertop Cultivation” – creating a “coffee culture” for growing oyster mushrooms in the kitchen. Learn to recycle your used coffee grounds for your cultivation kit, and enjoy fresh gourmet mushrooms all year.
This is a fast-growing and fun way to enjoy mushroom cultivation, and it’ll help you span the “in between” seasons for outdoor cultivation. In this three-hour instructional session led by Amy Lemieux, you’ll learn the ins and outs of mycelium, possible obstacles, and you’ll take home your own Oyster Mushroom countertop kit. Amy has extensive training and certification in Herbal First Aid, Mushroom Cultivation in Southeastern climates, and Environmental Education. She has been a member of the Queen City Herb Association for three years, and is a Master Gardener.
A locally sourced lunch is included. Only twelve seats available. Must have a minimum of six people registered to continue with scheduled event.
Cost: $60/person.
